Zipabout made the headlines last month with the public launch of our personalised Last Mile feature on the National Rail Enquiries website. The announcement was covered in national titles including the Independent, rail trade outlets such as Rail UK and Global Railway Review, and featured in a blanket spread of more than 100 regional news titles across the UK.

The Last Mile feature puts rail passengers firmly in control of every leg of their journey, providing users with weather-sensitive transport options for their onward journey after leaving the train station. It offers a truly multi-modal array of options, and integrates Voi Technology’s e-scooters into the UK’s wider public transport network for the first time.

The feature forms an integral part of the innovative Alert Me service which provides up-to-date accurate journey disruption messages as well as information on the busyness of the services – crucial in allaying any passenger fears around overcrowding in post-Covid times. Alert Me is currently accessible through Messenger but will be made available on Whatsapp and via SMS later this month in another first for the industry.
