Zipabout is working to transform the experience of transport.
This latest funding round has come from Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) and Founders Factory, supported by our partner Kx (the technology division of First Derivatives plc).
As well as generating new jobs and supporting our expansion into Europe, the funding will support the deployment of our personalised information service, which is used by some of the biggest names in transport including National Rail, LNER and ScotRail. And to top it all off, we have set a new HQ in Birmingham, one of the fastest growing tech hubs in the UK.
Alex Froom, Chief Product Officer at Zipabout said:
“We know that our service addresses a global need by transport operators to deliver real-time personalised travel information. Zipabout has been focused on the rail sector, however this new round of investment will support our ambition of delivering the product across all modes of transport.”
Last week the Government announced that the Coronavirus transport restrictions currently in place across the UK would be lifted for a five-day period between from 23rd to 27th December, as the UK prepares to spendtime with their friends and family over Christmas. What effect will this have on public transport?
We know our predictions are pretty good - but that's (quite rightly!) not enough. So we asked BCRRE and the University of Birmingham to test and validate our prediction capability to make it viable for operational use on the public transport network
You'd expect tougher lockdown restrictions would see a reduction in the number of people planning journeys, but if there’s one thing that coronavirus has taught us it's expect the unexpected...
