We need your help!

As the Zipabout platform grows, and we open new offices, it's becoming obvious that we need some help organising everything! Part office manager and part project assistant, this is a varied role that will keep you on your toes and offers the potential to grow with the company.

Perfect communication and organisation skills are vital, as is common sense, but we can teach you the rest.

You

A dab-hand in MS Office, with at least 1 year's experience of organising things in a commercial environment, you will pride yourself on your organisation and communication skills and have an interest in smart-cities and tech (even if you don’t yet know much about them). We can teach you all of that, but we’re passionate about what we do and how we can make a difference, so it would be good if you were too. You'll also be keen to build a career for yourself and will look at this as the first step whilst you explore the oppurtunities we can throw at you!

With offices in Birmingham and Oxford to support, you'll need to be happy to travel to either as needed.

Key responsibilities

Our projects are varied and widespread, as are the requirements of the role, and you'll be working with every part of the business. Rather than try and describe it, we asked everyone where they might need some help and what skills they needed, and they said...:

Projects
{Desk & field research}

  • Field support for R&D projects in the UK and abroad
  • Attending meetings, taking minutes and tasks
  • Surveys, talking to users, rootling out information
  • Basic project admin, helping write reports and findings

Dev & Product Team
{MS Excel, reading maps, user testing, creativity}

  • Helping source location data, poi data and editing maps
  • User testing of systems and devices
  • Input into product design

Design & Comms
{Basic digital skills, organisation skills}

  • Desk research and competitor analysis
  • Event organisation and support
  • Web and social media support
  • Logging coverage

Office stuff
{Flawless written English, MS Office, digital skills, organisation skills}

  • Answering phones
  • Booking travel, lunches, picnics, days out, hotels, flights
  • Arranging director meetings and diaries
  • Dealing with suppliers and office admin / purchasing

We’re a small and growing team, and everyone mucks in to get things done – even the Tech Director makes tea (occasionally)! - but you'll be the one we rely on to keep things running. You'll need to make sure you're pretty local too, as you'll be spending time in Oxford and Birmingham on a regular basis.
