As the Zipabout platform grows, so does the list of projects we are working on; from autonomous vehicle and Smart City programmes, through to mobile tech for transport operators and social care programmes, there’s a lot going on and we need some help!
We need an organisational demon with good communications skills to help us keep things on track. Part admin, part research and project co-ordination, you’ll work with the project managers to help them deliver our projects, both internal and external.
We need someone with great communication skills who is as happy attending meetings and dealing directly with clients as they are keeping the office running. You’ll need to keep things on track by making sure everyone is on top of their own to-do lists, and you’ll soon become an integral part of the team – this isn’t about filing! From helping create gantt charts and presentations, to researching writing up project reports, our projects move fast and need to be well documented. Keeping the admin up to date is key for internal and external projects - there’s no way round it – PowerPoint will feature…
This could involve desk research, reading up on a topic, attending events, helping with workshops, talking to users or just going into the field to test our ideas. You’ll need to be confident to go out on your own occasionally to get things done and you’ll be happy to learn new things – a lot of what we do is cutting edge, so sometimes it’s new to all of us!
Some of our projects are nice and simple – and some of them have up to 15 other companies involved! Keeping everyone informed and managing expectations is a vital part of keeping things running smoothly, so excellent communication and organisation skills are essential.
We’re a small and growing team, and everyone mucks in to get things done – even the Tech Director makes tea (occasionally)! Updating the website, organising the office, working with the Comms Director to organise our events, social media, attending exhibitions, helping our design team – there’s always something going on that will need your calm and collected outlook!
The perfect person will be used to organising others, and will now be looking for a role that genuinely has potential to keep on growing. Some commercial experience is vital, but it needn’t be project based. If you’ve managed diaries or teams of other people for a while or run research programmes, and now want a new challenge with more scope, this could be for you.
A dab-hand in MS Office, you will pride yourself on your organisation and communication skills and have an interest in smart-cities and tech, even if you don’t yet know much about them. We can teach you all of that, but we’re passionate about what we do and how we can make a difference, so it would be good if you were too.
If you think you’re who we’re looking for, and you want a career in a fast-moving sector with plenty of room to grow, send your CV with covering letter to firstname.lastname@example.org – no covering letter, no reply.
