This an exciting time at Zipabout as we start to expand into Europe.  We’re searching for a driven and proactive Operations specialist who will be an integral part of the day to day running of Zipabout and enable our continued growth in the UK and abroad. 

You won’t be a stranger to the start-up/scale up working environment and will have a strong track record in driving the operational elements of a fast paced and ambitious business.  You’ll be well practiced at bringing order and process to enable slick working operations but adept at avoiding a bureaucratic burden on a business with innovation at its heart.

In addition to being an operations whizz you’ll have at least 5 years’ experience of managing the full HR lifecycle within a growing business. Empathetic to creating a great place for our dynamic team to work you’ll also be commercially astute to ensure that your HR strategy supports the plans of the business.

Core duties


  • Responsible for ensuring that all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
  • Capture, document and improve people processes across the business
  • Design, implementation and management of operational working processes and policies to allow for rapid growth across multiple sites including the establishment of European office(s)
  • Ownership of business compliance and continuity activities:
  • Management of company memberships, subscriptions; ownership of relationships with partners such as the Department for Industry, trade bodies and Embassies
  • Line management of the Office Manager and ownership of the related supplier contracts


  • Full HR cycle management
  • Responsible for all HR concerns within the business
  • Management of the HR software platform
  • Continuous improvement of HR policies and processes including responsibility for rolling iterations of the Handbook and all policies
  • Management of the HR aspect of the business’s expansion into Europe
Vital experience
  • Strong track record in Ops in a start-up/scale up environment
  • Sound experience managing the full HR life cycle of a fast paced business
  • Direct experience of designing, implementing and managing working processes across an evolving business(multi-site/international element a bonus!)
  • Superior organisational skills with the ability to perform under pressure
  • Collaborative instincts and excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to build strong working relationships at all levels and gain senior stakeholder and wider teams buy-in
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for simplifying complexity
  • Able to deliver high quality documentation: presentations, process maps and guidance documents
  • Action driven and able to self-manage with a high degree of autonomy
  • Capacity to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic business environment
  • Courage of convictions and the ability to respectfully debate the status quo
  • Experience as a team leader and a keen interest in setting others up to succeed


This is a hybrid office/WFH role with at least 3 days per week in  our Leamington Spa office required.
