This an exciting time at Zipabout as we start to expand into Europe.  We’re searching for a driven and proactive HR specialist who will be an integral part of the day today running of Zipabout and enable our continued growth in the UK and abroad.  This is a great opportunity to be a key part of a rapidly growing business punching well above its weight. 

You won’t be a stranger to the startup/scale up working environment and will have a strong track record in all aspects of HR.  You’ll be well practiced at bringing order but adept at avoiding a bureaucratic burden on a business with innovation at its heart.  

In addition to being an HR whizz you’ll be happy to roll your sleeves up and keep the office running smoothly. Empathetic to creating a great place for our dynamic team to work you’ll also be commercially astute to ensure that your HR strategy supports the plans of the business.

Core duties

HR

  • Full HR cycle management:
  • Proactive recruitment activity – including international
  • On/offboarding – ensuring the best possible introduction to the business
  • Performance management
  • Benefits and reward
  • Retention
  • Responsible for all HR concerns within the business
  • Management of the HR software platform
  • Continuous improvement of HR policies and processes including responsibility for rolling iterations of the Handbook and all policies
  • Management of the HR aspect of the business’s expansion into Europe

Office Management

  • Provision of team admin support to aid the smooth running of the office; maintaining office order, petty cash purchasing
  • Ownership of the office supplier / contractor relationships, e.g. cleaners, utilities, waste management, alarm maintenance
  • Fire and health & safety management
  • Answering the ‘phone professionally and taking clear and concise messages
  • Front of house – meet & greet visitors; present a professional front to the business
  • Fire Marshall duties: fire drills / fire alarm testing
  • Team first aider duties; accident book, first aid kit
  • Key holder and responsible for opening and closing the office every day
  • Updating/maintaining records e.g. asset register, filing
  • Ideas for team socials and running their logistics
  • Making the office a great environment to work in
  • Ad hoc projects to support the business
Vital experience
  • Strong track record in HR
  • Experience in a startup/scale up environment an advantage
  • Superior organisational skills with the ability to perform under pressure
  • Collaborative instincts and excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for simplifying complexity
  • Capacity to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic business environment
  • Great attention to detail in everything you do
  • Able to work independently and as part of the core team
  • Confident with Microsoft Office(Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc)
  • Dynamic, entrepreneurial and able to think outside the box
  • Strong sense of initiative and have-a-go attitude
