You’re an inspiring leader, well versed in the nuances of starting a team from scratch and enjoy growing, coaching and engaging with your staff.  You’re articulate and able to communicate clearly with techies, the commercial team and clients.  You’re adept at balancing business priorities and considering delivery from both commercial and technical viewpoints. You take pride in embedding structures and processes that help your team to work effectively and efficiently.  You’re also not afraid to roll up your sleeves from time to time and get stuck into the tech.

Core duties
  • Leading, managing and developing the UK and EU tech teams to deliver the commercial product
  • Management of our tech strategy and processes; ownership of the delivery roadmap for platform / tech stack
  • Working closely with core management to shape product and strategy
  • Creation of knowledge management structure and key processes (e.g. quality control)
  • Management of resources aligned with commercial growth and demand (e.g. identifying new roles and hires)
  • Capable of providing client-facing, high-level management of projects / features; understanding the market, commercial reality and how we can keep ahead of the competition
  • Proactive management of client perceptions and relationships, drives the team to constantly deliver against our peers
  • Ensure open and active communications both within the team and externally with stakeholders and clients; able to communicate and celebrate our technology to an audience
  • Establish and manage cross-location communication channels to create one team
  • Proactively support development against commercial priorities
  • Set up of a Nearshore entity and ensure that local and HQ practices are complied with.
Vital experience
  • Strong leadership and people/team management experience
  • Experience of operating in an international multi-location environment
  • Proven track record of starting a tech team from scratch in your location
  • Commercial experience working with Amazon Web Services
  • A sound understanding of modern architectural design patterns, particularly event-driven and microservice based architectures
  • Experience with source control (Git preferred), continuous integration, and unit/integration testing and issue management software (Jira ideally)
  • Comfortable managing a team who work with advanced HTML5 and SCSS, AWS CLI and SDKs, NodeJS, Java/Scala, RESTful APIs, Jasmine & Jest
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills – both written and spoken

LOCATION

This is a hybrid office/WFH role with at least 3 days per week in our Nearshore office in Krakow.  Regular travel between Poland and our HQ in Leamington Spa will be required.
