Kx, a division of First Derivatives plc, announces that its technology has been selected by transport tech specialists Zipabout to power its communications platform for transport networks.
Zipabout’s platform utilises machine learning to analyse complex transportation data and deliver personalised passenger communications in real-time, all tailored to the individual for a seamless multi-modal journey.
With Kx technology, Zipabout is able to process complex and disparate big datasets with greater speed and scalability. Kx technology is built on kdb+, the world’s fastest time series database, and is optimised to provide real-time, actionable insights, making it ideally suited to power Zipabout’s platform.
Zipabout’s clients include some of the largest transportation companies in the UK and the partnership with Kx comes at a time when the company is in a significant growth phase. The agreement timing aligns with a wider funding round for Zipabout.

It now enables us to better meet the growing demands of our platform, delivering seamless journeys in real-time to the 25 million people who are connected to it.
