As Zipabout’s Managing Director, Alex is responsible for the delivery of commercial projects and products for Transport Operators, Local Authorities and Infrastructure stakeholders.
He has more than 17 years’ experience in the digital sector, designing and delivering complex projects for international brands including a unique Transport Demand Management programme for London Underground during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Alex’s background lies in B2C digital engagement including internal and external CVP/EVP consultancy. He has headed up projects ranging from designing and building e-commerce and SaaS products through to developing scalable architectures, strategies and apps. Previous digital clients include Microsoft Xbox, Bacardi, Barclays and EDF Energy.
Alex has spent the last five years specialising in Intelligent Mobility.
Product Design Director
Chris is Product Design Director at Zipabout, responsible for delivering the technology platform into third party channels by helping partners adhere to UX/UI principles, maximising user engagement and the collection of behavioural data.
Previously Head of Digital Design at Nationwide, Chris has more than ten years’ experience of leading teams of developers and creatives in fast-paced agency and client environments. He has worked with such global brands as Warner Bros, Samsung and Jaguar, specialising in shaping their creative direction with a focus on UX, visual prototyping and digital marketing.
Chris’s key area of focus lies in the development of assets for digital use across multiple channels from conceptualisation and design to optimisation testing and delivery. He has a self-confessed obsession with creating beautiful user-centred design with a solid foundation in user analysis, tried and tested UX methods and brand positioning.
Senior Software Engineer
As Senior Software Engineer, David is responsible for the development of the Zipabout platform, working closely with our technology partners to evaluate, design and deliver our cutting edge technology.
Previously vice president at Winton Capital Management, David has ten years’ experience of working with real-time financial data, implementing solutions to automate the handling of ‘big data’ and providing a platform for fellow colleagues and researchers to retrieve data using their own choice of compute environment.
David is a strong believer in software automation, from developing frameworks for data ingestion through to the software release process; continuously integrating new data feeds and developers code into the Zipabout platform.
Daniel Chick is Technical Director of Zipabout, responsible for technology strategy and systems architecture.
Formerly CTO of IBG Plc, he has over 20 years’ experience in building complex and scalable data platforms, including one of Europe’s largest online advertising networks, and personalisation technology for the travel industry. He has a background in all aspects of Internet related technology, with specific expertise in scalable infrastructure, behavioural tracking technology, API development, ‘Cloud’ based computing and ‘serverless’ architectures, machine learning and location based services.
Daniel has featured as a panel expert for the DfT Traveller Needs UK Capability study, and regularly contributes at events and conferences in the Intelligent Mobility sector. He also has an unhealthy interest in all forms of transport data!
As Communications Director, Hollye is responsible for all PR and marketing activity for Zipabout, leading the strategic direction of both internal and external communications to raise the company profile.
A former national news journalist, Hollye has more than ten years’ experience within both consumer and B2B environments in the development and delivery of marketing, PR and brand strategy. With a focus on brand reputation and stakeholder and media relations, she has led high-profile communications campaigns for such global brands as Heineken and adidas.
Hollye headed up the agency team on the multi-award winning PR campaign promoting Channel 4’s broadcast coverage of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, oversaw the communications launch of BT Sport in the UK, and most recently, ran pan-European campaigns for Samsung.
Senior Frontend Developer
As Senior Frontend Developer, Mel is responsible for building and maintaining our suite of web and mobile tools and applications, demonstrating the capabilities of the Zipabout Platform from an end user perspective.
Mel has over 17 years of experience developing for the web, and has worked with a number of digital agencies throughout his career. He has been involved in various high profile projects for clients such as McLaren Automotive, Microsoft, CIPD, Barclays and British Army.
Mel has a strong focus on transforming complex user requirements into highly usable interfaces, which work beautifully across different digital channels, providing the best possible user experience.
